English

This week we are reading one of my favourite books, 'Whatever Next!' by Jill Murphy. If you have the story at home, read it with your grown-up. If you don't, you can watch it below.

What did Baby Bear pack for his trip to the moon? What would you take with you? If you have a cardboard box at home, can you act out the story?

Maths

Can you count the items in the picture below?

How many are there of each item?   Houses, deer, snowmen, snowballs, big snowflakes.

Geography/Art/Science

Explore the snow!! How does it feel? Is it hot or cold? What happens if you hold it in your hand for a few minutes? Take photos and share them with me on Class Dojo! If you can't get outside, do you have ingredients in your house to make fake snow? Or bring some snow inside and put on to a baking tray. Use watered down food colouring or paint and watch the snow change colour!

Our School Day

Our school day starts at 8.45am. We will greet the children at the main door on the Key Stage One yard. The door will close at 8.55am. If you arrive after this time, please sign in via the office. Children will leave school at 3.15pm via the same door. In order to keep your child safe, we may occasionally ask for a password if we do not recognise the adult coming to collect them. If someone different will be collecting, please call the school office to let us know. Your patience is very much appreciated as we get to know faces and extended families!

PE

Our PE days are Monday (with Miss Beresford) and Wednesday (with Mr Ollier)- Please send your child into school wearing their PE kit. Please note, we will not do PE on our first day (Wednesday 3rd September) so the children should come to school in their normal uniform.

Snacks

We are a nut free school, with members of our community that have severe allergies to nuts and nut-based products. Please be aware of snacks in lunch boxes, particularly cereal bars, or peanut butter sandwiches. Our children are entitled to free fruit and milk and these are available at break times and are always very popular with the class!
