Year 6 Autumn Term 2023

Well Year 6, we’ve had a great few weeks back already.

I think we’re all totally back into the swing of things, aren’t we?

Every week we will add our timetable to our class page, so that you can get an overview of what we are going to be learning about that week. Bear in mind though, that sometimes the timetable will change. We may have to spend longer on something than planned- and the timetable won’t be changed until the following week. It’s all about flexibility!

WHO WILL BE TEACHING YOU?

Mrs Stannard: Monday- Thursday

Miss Beresford- Friday

Mrs Shortland, Miss Lightfoot and Miss Tyler

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU HAVE EVERY DAY:

  • Pencil case: pencil, black handwriting pen, rubber, ruler, pencil sharpener
  • Optional- but useful: scissors, glue stick
  • Water bottle
  • A large old shirt/ T-shirt that can be used as an art shirt over your uniform when we are doing anything messy!
  • Please make sure that your uniform is all NAMED.

WHAT ARE WE GOING TO BE LEARNING ?

****UPDATE****

ACCELERATED READING LOG IN

There have been issues with children not being able to complete quizzes at the weekend. We have now adjusted the settings so this should now be possible. Please let us know if you are experiencing any issues with logging in and completing these quizzes.

For accessing your area and to complete a new quiz about the book you have just read, click on the link below and log in with your 5 letter log in and abc password. Have fun reading, building up progress points and seeing your word count totals increase!

WHEN IS HOMEWORK SET?

*****UPDATE*****

Everyone has a new English and Maths homework book all of their own!

We shall set:

English on a Wednesday- which is due back on Monday

Maths on a Thursday- due back the following Wednesday

We know it will be tempting for some of you to rattle through the whole book, but PLEASE only do the pages that I set for you.

WHEN WILL P.E. BE?

You will need to come in your full P.E. kit on a Wednesday and a Thursday.

Please make sure you have a coat with you every day, as we will be outside at playtimes unless it is torrential rain!! If you love playing on the field bring a spare pair of shoes to keep in your locker to change into.

Pikemere School Alsager
I love Pikemere School because the Teachers and TA’s are nice and helpful. Whenever you are upset they will talk to you – whatever it is.
