- Your PE day is WEDNESDAY so come into school in your outdoor PE kit on those days.
- Outdoor learning will start once we have settled into school life, I will add dates to the website to confirm. On outdoor learning days, please send your child in wearing old trousers and an old coat, wellies can stay at school for the term.
Our School Day
Our school day starts at 8.45am. I will greet the children at the small green gates on the Key Stage One yard. Children will leave school at 3.05pm via the same gate.

The Early Years Curriculum
Our curriculum and practice is led by the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage.
This year, Pikemere is becoming an Early Adopter of the new Early Years Curriculum. This means we have a new framework to implement and new Early Learning Goals to work towards. We learn through seven key areas of learning which include:
3 Prime Areas of Learning:
Personal, Social and Emotional Development – Self Regulation, Managing Self and Building Relationships
Communication and Language – Listening, Attention and Understanding and Speaking
Physical Development – Gross Motor Skills and Fine Motor Skills
Four Specific Areas of Learning :
Literacy – Comprehension, Word Reading and Writing
Mathematics – Number and Numerical Patterns
Understanding the World – Past and Present, People, Culture and Communities and The Natural World
Expressive Arts and Design – Creating with Materials and Being Imaginative and Expressive
Our Learning in Autumn
The whole school will be looking at the book…
‘Here We Are’ by Oliver Jeffers.
This book will lead us to many different topics and themes and will also be linking to other books such as Funnybones, Oliver’s Vegetables and Brown Bear, Brown Bear What do you hear?
