Year 4

Hello Year 4!

Welcome to the Summer Term! I can't believe how close we are to the end of Year 4! This term we have lots of exciting things planned, including new topics, creative projects and plenty of opportunities to challenge ourselves and work together. We’re really looking forward to another fun and successful term with you all.

On this page you will find all the information that you need, for what we are getting up to.

Just remember, we are there to help you learn as well as to help you feel safe and happy. Please talk to one of us if you are unsure of anything.

SPRING TERM 2026 OVERVIEW

Here is our Year 4 curriculum overview for the Summer term 2026. It will give you an idea of the topics we will be learning about.

Homework will be sent out on a Friday.

You can also practise your times tables by logging onto Times Tables Rock Stars. Remember, by the end of Year 4 we need to know all our times tables up to 12 x 12.

READING-

Of course, we would love you to read as much as you can at home-even 5 minutes every night will really help you in class. Remember, if you do read to an adult, get them to sign your planner!

There is a wide range of reading books in class for you to borrow, but you may want to bring your own from home if you prefer. I wonder if you have read any of these?

New books are expensive but if you join the library you can get up to 20 books free every week!

You will need to wear your full school uniform everyday apart from THURSDAY and FRIDAY. On these two days, you can wear your P.E. kit for the whole day as this is when you will do your P.E. lessons.

FOOD AND DRINK IN SCHOOL

Remember we are a NUT FREE school and this is because we have some children who have severe allergies to nuts and need to avoid any contact with them.

Make sure you bring a healthy snack for morning break and to keep you going until lunchtime. You will also need a packed lunch if you are not having a school dinner.

It would be beneficial to bring a named water bottle too to help keep you hydrated during the day-remember this will help your brain work better.

Don’t forget to name EVERYTHING you bring into school.
