Reception

Welcome to the Reception Class 2025-26

Hello Reception! Welcome to our class page! We hope you've had a wonderful summer and we are so excited to get started in September.

  • A waterproof coat
  • Spare underwear, socks/tights
  • Lunchbox (if your child is not having school meals)
  • A bag (for reading books)
  • Water bottle (named please)
  • Sunhat and sun cream or hat and gloves (all dependent on the British weather!)

Our School Day

Our school day starts at 8.45am. We will greet the children at the main door on the Key Stage One yard. The door will close at 8.55am. If you arrive after this time, please sign in via the office. Children will leave school at 3.15pm via the same door. In order to keep your child safe, we may occasionally ask for a password if we do not recognise the adult coming to collect them. If someone different will be collecting, please call the school office to let us know. Your patience is very much appreciated as we get to know faces and extended families!

PE

Our PE days are Monday (with Miss Beresford) and Wednesday (with Mr Ollier)- Please send your child into school wearing their PE kit. Please note, we will not do PE on our first day (Wednesday 3rd September) so the children should come to school in their normal uniform.

Snacks

We are a nut free school, with members of our community that have severe allergies to nuts and nut-based products. Please be aware of snacks in lunch boxes, particularly cereal bars, or peanut butter sandwiches. Our children are entitled to free fruit and milk and these are available at break times and are always very popular with the class!
